BGC Group launch Training Centre
State-of-the-art facilities at BGC’s new Renewable Energy Training Centre are building a new breed of specialist technicians ready to install the very latest green energy solutions.
As well as training staff for the Group’s own growing renewables division, the purpose-built centre in Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent will provide skills to installers from across the UK in fitting the panels and converters needed to make electricity from the rays of the sub, through photovoltaic (PV) technology.
Trainees can also learn to install air or ground source heat pumps and solar panels which heat water. There are even pitched roofs at ground level to allow trainees to fit solar panels without having to work at height.
The BGC Group’s customer base includes local authorities, large building maintenance companies and housing trusts, all of whom can benefit from the company’s renewable energy capabilities and have free access to our training facilty to allow them to raise awarness within their own orginisation. BGC Group will also use the centre to provide training on all apsects of it activities to both employee's and cleints from Heatlh and Safety to product updates etc.
It has already carried out installations from large commercial premises to domestic properties, and has won a contract to install photovoltaic (PV) systems in properties for the Aspire Housing Group based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire.
And BGC’s social inclusion programme is making the most of the pioneering facilities by inviting school children and students, from primary school to college age, into the centre, to include the benefits of renewable energy in their education.
The younger children visiting the centre are given a fun lesson in the power of the sun using solar powered toys. BGC Renewables and Excellence Director Mark Davies said: “Clearly renewable energy is an exciting opportunity for us to provide new skills and new services. It saves the customer money by reducing electricity bills, can make them a significant return on their investment through government subsidies and is a 100 per cent green energy source as it has zero carbon emissions.”
BGC experts are available to give advice and quotations for a wide range of renewable energy solutions, as well as signposting customers to finance opportunities and financial benefits like the feed-in tariff. They can be contacted by calling the team free on 0800 043 0345.
