BGC Renewables
Fully trained engineers have the know-how and experience in installing state-of-the-art renewable energy systems. BGC Managing Director Mark Sims said: “We have made a substantial investment in providing our staff with the training and accreditation they need in order to provide our customers with the very best renewable energy products. “Global warming and spiralling energy costs mean that an increasing number of people are looking for more sustainable and more economic ways of heating their homes.
Demand for the environmentally-friendly, fuel-saving products will undoubtedly accelerate and we are ready now with the technology of the future.” BGC engineers have been trained to an advanced level for solar heating systems for hot water, and they have achieved industry accreditation for the installation of air source heat pumps and combined heat and power units.
Air source heat pumps absorb heat from the outside air in the same way a fridge extracts heat from its inside. This heat is then used to warm water for radiators or underfloor heating systems, or to warm the air in homes – cutting fuel bills by up to 75 per cent. A combined heat and power unit – fed by a single fuel source – produces both heat and electricity for the home.
Significant savings on energy bills are achieved and it is also possible to sell unused electricity to the local grid. For new house builders these units offer an effective way of meeting the Government’s targets towards zero carbon homes and the Code for Stuatainable Housing.
